Viewing Notes

I like it! The melodrama and overacting lends to the neo-noir feel (looking at you, Hilary Swank). Perhaps lesser De Palma but still quite fascinating and a parade of faces. Soon as Mike Starr appears: fist pump… Rose McGowan? What. KD Lang?? Huh. Richard Brake?! Love when movies do that.

Made me want to revisit all the Los Angeles throwback films set in this period. LA Confidential, Hollywoodland, Gangster Squad, etc.
