Viewing Notes

The Corman tribute marathon by DKUTV continues and this is my final film. On one hand I’m glad to have seen this bc it’s not streaming anywhere (tho it’s probably on YT or Archive). On the other hand this is (now) my least favorite Corman-directed movie. The satire and humor doesn’t really work and makes for a tedious viewing. I’ve read that AIP tampered with this to extent that RC was so angry he quit working with them and stopped directing (after his fighter plane film released in the following year). So the version that exists isn’t his or true to his vision.

I do give it and RC credit for the concepts and imagery but it’s all a jumbled mess.
