More of the same as in the second film, a big battle flick with General Ohki calling the shots. First third is all flashback to get the king’s backstory and it is so annoying. This is not a very good movie but on par with part 2, which was also disappointing. I laughed a few times at how corny it is. Ofc I like seeing Kento Yamazaki’s hotheaded Shin but he takes a backseat to Ohki and the king. Ten the owl girl is barely in this. At least Kyokai returns and has some decent action beats. Still not enough.
My favorite moment is the mid credit scene, for obvious reasons. I really hope that part 4 movie brings this story back around to what made the first film a near masterpiece in my eyes.
