Viewing Notes

Didn’t get to see this in the Dolby cinema but this is the next best thing. Still really like this movie even tho it doesn’t come close to the previous film. A lot of the things that I felt weighed it down didn’t bother this time around (all the Marcus stuff). Enjoyable for what it is and the chemistry is great. Really like the camera work and that wild POV rig that switches back and forth.

Love Jacob Scipio as Armando. Such a fun “whatever” attitude and gets a partial redemption arc. They really need a sidequel w/his character returning to Mexico and fighting the cartel to complete that arc.

Vanessa Hudgens is terrible. Would’ve preferred getting Charles Melton back instead of her. Howard’s granddaughter Callie is second worst. She’s so awkward and out of place as tho someone owed a favor and cast her in that role. Besides Scipio, Paola Nunez is the low key MVP. I’d watch a whole movie of her just running the Miami police force and kicking ass.
