Viewing Notes

RIP Donald Sutherland, who is top billed in this film despite being in a small supporting role. Hell yeah

This is a brat pack flick, which I didn’t realize until I was watching and seeing Kevin Dillon, Patrick Dempsey, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Stephen Geoffreys, who all sat on the periphery but what ties them all together here is Andrew McCarthy, a card-carrying member.

Fun coming-of-age movie set in the sixties with a stacked cast. Sutherland is typically great in his small role but it’s Dillon and McCarthy and the other boys that make this a worthy viewing. Still wonder why Kevin didn’t become a bigger star in the eighties but maybe bc he was in the shadow of his brother? His character drops more F(aggot)-bombs than any other character I’ve seen in movies. It’s insane.

RIP Donald Sutherland
