Viewing Notes

10 year anniversary of this feature length fan film that debuted at G-Fest then had a big premiere event at Pickwick Theatre.

Big nostalgia bomb bc I was at the soft premiere at G-Fest 10 years ago in the packed screening room (didn’t attend the Pickwick premiere but have some flyers somewhere in my old stuff).

Wasn’t really a thing for me at the time but now it really hits differently. Fun to see all the G-Fest attendees and the Dojo Studios tokusatsu room where they filmed with suits and miniature sets. Chicago as the backdrop is great in addition to rolling out almost the entire rogues gallery of kaiju. Ofc it is great to see Takarada Sensei in a small cameo.

Wild thing watching this now is that there is a small subplot that mirrors the fifth stage transformation in Shin Godzilla, which released two years later. Wonder if that concept originated in another film and I overlooked it. I should email Billy and ask him about it.
