This had me on the hook for most of the runtime. Yes it’s another “see how A.I. is bad” but I think rather than a creepy doll or whatever, you can see how an Alexa-like device can take over a family if it continues to learn on its own. Doesn’t feel that farfetched. I think the main issue here is that, while it is a tight under 90min runtime, they rush into things so quickly and remove a potential second act of the story.
And it doesn’t stick the landing when it finally gets there. It’s like they didn’t know how to end this so they just closed the curtains. Disappointing. But I did enjoy the ride to get there. Also needed more Dastmalchian.
