Viewing Notes
Mikael Håfström is one of those working directors that just makes competent films based on the screenplay given to him. I generally like his work (that I’ve seen) but he hovers in that 5 to 6 out of 10 range. I do plan to finally give 1408 a spin this October after picking up the DVD.
Anyways, this falls into the same territory. It’s not bad, it’s not particularly great. It’s fine. The screenplay is where it suffers being a retread of a premise / concept we’ve seen and seen better. Astronauts go on a mission to Titan, the Saturn moon, and things get hairy due to the prolonged sleep cycles that are inducing paranoia. I like the movie but again we’ve seen it before.
