Sad that Sayaka Akimoto couldn’t continue as Lady Death but I’m willing to give this new actor a chance. She’s fine but doesn’t have the same look or ferocity as Akimoto.
I give credit to Luna Fujimoto for her big fight sequence that has two long takes which I’m sure she had to practice many times. But it all looks like a big choreographed sequence and doesn’t feel natural. Akimoto also has a lot more finesse in her fighting abilities from her action movie and AKB48 background (as a dancer).
Also some dumb plot points and lacking details. Why would LD enter the big finale with her long hair down obstructing her view and being the way? Why would she wear a long sweater that restricts her movement? She’s a trained assassin!
There’s a lot more but who cares. I know why they do these things and it just brings the movie down. Probably a good thing Akimoto left the franchise; she deserves better.
