A black-and-white version of the film Godzilla Minus One, released theatrically. In postwar Japan, Godzilla brings new devastation to an already scorched landscape. With no military intervention or government help in sight, the survivors must join together in the face of despair and fight back against an unrelenting horror.

Happy 70th Anniversary or Birthday, Godzilla (it’s already November 3rd in Japan).
Goddamnit I cried again. Lowkey MVP is Tachibana. Decided I do want an X-Plus GMO but I really want the junior version from Odo Island.
I hated the ending even more on this rewatch. It undercuts how Noriko’s death punctuates how devastating Godzilla’s landfall is and will be. I would be fine with the ending if Shikishima gives his life in that suicide mission. Then Akiko still has a mother.
