Viewing Notes

I really really really wish I had seen more of Pyun’s oeuvre when I met him 10 years ago. I’d have a lot more questions for him… like what was the genesis for this movie, which is like a remake of Bloodsport and Kickboxer mashed up but much worse. It’s just so wild to see a Pyun film like this 2 years removed from Cyborg, which is legit great.

This movie has its moments but it’s so oddly paced and drama heavy. The PQ isn’t great but there’s probably no HD version available since this was a DTV flick. Very dark and murky which doesn’t help.
