Viewing Notes

Was looking for the original “making of” special that aired on MTV and found this new one that celebrates the 40 (!!) year anniversary of this song. So I spun it up and it’s quite fun tho a tad sad, too.

The song is significant in my life for a few reasons I won’t go into here but this 75min documentary is absolutely a time capsule and hits all the feels. I had to pause to leave and stopped right after George Michael sings a couple lines from his “new song” for a reporter. The song? “Last Christmas” and it’s a tremendous moment. I leave and guess what song starts in the Christmas mix via Apple Music? Yep. 😢

Now I want to find the original special from 1984.
