My brother put this on and I remembered that we watched it last year but only the first half (we did watch the entire first film). So it was nice to finish viewing it. If there was ever the perfect role for Mel Gibson in his elder years it’s this one. He’s such a perfect asshole and easily draws from his real life to inform the character.
This movie is written well and has good acting to sell the premise. The “trapped at a movie theater” sequence is great. The inclusion of “Do They Know It’s Christmas” as a subplot was excellent timing to cap the holiday season and my Advent calendar event!
