Viewing Notes

Firstly, that poster art is hilarious. The movie is about two buddies (cowboys) Jerry Reed and Tom Selleck pulled into a missing persons mystery by accident. In Nashville. Morgan Fairchild is the missing person so that artwork is very misleading.

Secondly, the description is incorrect. These two cowboys end up in Nashville by way of hobo’ing on a train they hopped to escape a sheriff chasing them. Purely by coincidence then impersonate as private detectives.

Thirdly, the listing on Amazon Prime indicates “digitally remastered” then throws up one of the worst transfers I’ve seen on the platform. Seriously.  Also, this tv movie goes by Rambling Man, which is also on Prime.

Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised to learn this is a mystery and set in Nashville. Selleck and Reed have good chemistry together; they should’ve made a whole series with these two getting into trouble in different cities. Barbara Mandrell has a cameo which was fun to see. Randolph Powell looks just like Will Forte (MacGruber!) it’s uncanny.
