This isn’t nearly as bad as everyone on LB seems to think it is. It’s perfectly fine holiday pap with Jack Black doing his usual schtick. Like a PG rated Satan’s Little Helper but for Christmas instead of Halloween.
I like the idea of an “evil angel” persuading the nerd kid to do things he wouldn’t normally do. The movie does need another pass thru the editing bay to trim 10-15 minutes and tighten it up. Also the ending really drops the ball.
But I like Black doing this character (again) and the holiday setting.
