My favorite aspect of the movie upon this rewatch is that Ma Dong-seok and Kim Mu-yeol have reversed roles from the new Roundup: Punishment movie. Here they are the criminal and the cop. In R:P, Ma Dong-seok is the cop and Kim Mu-yeol is the criminal. Here Ma Dong-seok is constantly berating and slamming the cops for being no good yet of course he’s the super cop in the Roundup movies. It’s fun.
Overall, this is like K-movie lite when it comes to serial killers and gangsters. Could’ve gone way harder but it feels so neutered of anything real edgy. But it is still great fun to see the cops and gangsters working together to catch the killer. Very crowd pleasing.
I LOVE THE ENDING SCENE (with Don Lee smiling)
