This reminds me of the 45rpm records that had a GI Joe story or other IP short stories that were also animated using static images, just in the way this looks with static animation. This is the story of a samurai who finds a cursed sword crafted by Muramasa.
After this I watched a short documentary about Muramasa and his swords. The stories about his swords being cursed started in the Edo period. Surprised there haven’t been more movies about this, unless they’re obscure. TIL I learned there was a 2000s series of films about these swords, 12 movies! Starring Riki Takeuchi. Wonder if they got any kind of release.
