Viewing Notes

aka Bang! Bang! You’re Dead

Def a movie that was spun out of the popularity of the James Bond / spy movies during this period. Not a spoof but sorta kinda is with this tourist (Tony Randall) becoming the super spy surrogate. But the material plays it mostly straight with some humor sprinkled in and the obligatory “Bond girl” with a secret identity.

This one is right up my alley but didn’t work for me bc of all that, walking a line between serious and spoof. Also it’s hard to buy Randall as this Cary Grant type a la Charade or a James Bond.
