This is a trip! This a similar premise to Doc Hollywood except that the doctor here is a woman on her way to Chicago. So I suppose Doc Hollywood is just a loose remake. In this movie the doctor stays for one night and keeps trying to get back on the road to Chicago but another patient needs her skills. Then she falls in love with a local.
Always fun to discover an older film like this that is so familiar.
