Viewing Notes

Didn’t realize I’d be doing an Amber Midthunder double feature tonight but I’m happy about that (even if she’s underused in both films). The satire and commentary is heavy handed and so on the nose but I like the dark humor. It’s hard to take Malkovich seriously when he takes so many paycheck movie roles so it felt like he was goofing on that here. There’s nothing subtle in the movie from the young journalist to OTT pop star behavior I thought it was a joke on top of a joke.

Filmed in New Mexico why not just set the movie in New Mexico? Silly
