RIP Val Kilmer
December 31, 1959—April 1, 2025
Already had this in my Prime watchlist bc it was a movie I was completely unfamiliar with, one of those movies that just gets sucked into the black hole now but probably had a life on the shelf at the video store back in the day.
This is a fun movie to see Kilmer and his wife acting together in this sun baked neo-noir in the Nevada desert. They are pretty good together plus Michael Madsen is perfectly cast here as the bad guy.
Not a great movie but an entertaining one for Kilmer, Whalley and Madsen. Also had a hard time placing the year on this because it feels sooooooooooooooooooo mid-1990s but Kilmer was doing Batman and Heat during that time and not this kind of thing for him and his wife. Was surprised this was an eighties film; he looks way older than he did in Top Gun only a few years prior.
Good film to watch after viewing the documentary VAL.
