Viewing Notes

Bloated but still a fun and ridiculous tale set in Chicago. Was thinking that the entire visit to Wolf’s home by the FBI and treasury agents could’ve been cut, among other things. Or show them finding the surveillance cameras in the yard then the gun. Everything is spelled out and telegraphed so the audience can follow along. Maybe that’s why it was such a huge hit on Netflix. Viewers need all the details while they second screen the movie.

Trim 20 minutes and improve the pacing. Like they didn’t even need to show the funeral scene in Kewanee. Just mention it and what transpired. This really feels like the extended cut, slows down the movie.

Guess I shouldn’t be surprised that JK Simmons is my most seen actor in this cast followed by Affleck, who is tremendous as this character.
