Viewing Notes

Would 100 percent buy this on Blu-ray if it were available. Not sure why I didn’t create an iQiyi tag earlier but they do offer some of their films on their YT channel, albeit in a not perfect version (they purposely drop the audio in spots). I watched via my Macbook so the PQ is decent. English subs burned in so that’s fine. Action is excellent but a wild choice to make action star Raquel Xu a passive character in this (even tho she gets top billing).

Jane Wu is the most impressive actor in this; she kicks ass both as a sniper and hand-to-hand combatant. The human trafficking story is retread and just okay. Also, this is one those “x years later” movies yet the hero is still massively sharp as ever with both sniper and martial arts skills despite not using them for “x amount of years” so yeah one those deals. I’m so used to that I don’t care but kinda annoying to see a character be perfect w/o using those skills for years.
