Dr. Arthur Calgary visits the Argyle family to return an address book lost some time ago by Jack Argyle, only to find out that Jack has been executed for the murder of his mother. Calgary can prove that Jack was innocent. In spite of opposition from a hostile family, he is determined to solve the crime.

You know I love a good Agatha Christie adaptation… sadly this one is not good, which is nuts given the cast involved. The biggest negative is the easy jazz score by Dave Brubeck. Wow this that so wrong for this mystery investigation. Just changing the score to something a little more ominous and dark would go a long way here. Also, thought this was a TV movie bc of the score and how mystery-lite it feels… then there’s a scene where one of the woman is completely topless. Startling! But this is a UK production so maybe it was a TV movie?
