Viewing Notes

Saturday morning cartoon: the final cartoon on this DVD i got for 14 cents at the library sale. Was the second cartoon i watched this morning and wasn’t sure it would be listed on TMDb (several are not listed). But I found it! There are no credits on the cartoon but seeing the description here it makes sense; the story mixes the automobile lifestyle with fairy tales and mother goose stories. Two mischievous characters, Discourtesy and Carelessness, are unleashed and cause the folks to get into car accidents.

An interesting approach from an insurance company to target children for this messaging. Unless they were just showing this to all audiences at the theaters (probably the case). Anyways, a neat piece of ephemera filmmaking.

Animation resembles Dave Fleischer’s work and knowing Max Fleisher directed animated commercials I thought this might be a Fleisher production.
