Viewing Notes

So many notes that I want write but way too tired. Will do later bc I need to express them.

Wow the description gives away the big reveal. Thx jerks

For a ~$5 million reported budget, they squeeze the most out of it for a decent actioner B-movie. Impressive really. So kudos for that. Would love to see more low budget flicks like this (not far removed from what Adkins and Grillo are doing). That said, this would’ve done well on streaming, ie. Netflix release of the week. It’ll still probably do decent numbers bc it just feels and looks like that kind of movie.

If it gets a BD release I would buy it. Another one that would be cool to edit out the crap parts.

ok, I hate that I have to repeat a previous repeated note but pls don’t cast Juju Chan unless you’re going to give her something substantial to do. I sighed when she appears bc I already knew she was going to be underutilized.

Charithra Chandran is a knockout. Love her. Fun role as the frightened flight attendant trying to keep it all together in midst of a shitstorm. She and Hartnett make this movie worth the watch. When they are not on screen, the movie suffers. All the stuff w/Katee Sackoff and the evil organization is dull as dishwater. So uninteresting and dumb. Cold open with them instead of Hartnett was a mistake. Including them at all was a mistake.

Marko Zaror is a highlight for sure but what a waste of his talent and skills. I’m selfish and wanted more of him stirring shit up. Another negative of the screenplay was

[SPOiLER]
the lack of a dedicated foil for the hero, a villain that is always there trying to stop the hero. Felt like that needed that one Big Bad that that was the constant thorn in the side for the entire film. Again, I’m selfish but that could’ve been a good spot for Zaror, Adkins, Grillo, et al. They all do villain well.
