Lam, a cop approaching 40 but without much accomplishment, always wants to achieve something memorable before his retirement. He is obliged by his sister to find a decent Chinese girl for his nephew, Baffalo, who is an “American Born Chinese”. But Baffalo has an eye for a sweetie, Ellen, who has accidentally witnessed a murder. The incident gets Lam, Baffalo and Ellen being involved in a ruthless underground arms smuggling ring, wich sends the killer to eliminate them.

Viewing Notes
Most of the movie is a solid six but similar to the first movie, the final action setpiece is so OTT that I’m bumping to a 7 out of ten. This “sequel” has nothing to do with the previous movie nor has any of the same characters. BUT… it does have some of the same actors incl. Conan Lee as one the leads, Norman Tsui as a police commander, and Gordon Liu returns as yet another villain—here he’s a crime boss with a hairpiece. I think there’s enough humor to call it a comedy but it’s mostly crime action.
I get the feeling this is another Lau Kar-Leung joint where the studio was like, “call the same name and add a number 2 to the title.” Another thing I like it’s that he’s not in the movie so his actors (mainly Lee and Liu) get the best fight choreo. It’s good stuff. Hopefully both of these movies will get a good release in NA.
