Viewing Notes

Animation for the national anthem. very basic using the cutouts.

“Kokka Kimigayo is a cutout animation short of the national anthem of Japan, Kimigayo. Along with chrysanthemum animated segments and a sing-along of the anthem, this short also contains segments showing specific moments of Japanese mythology depicted as silhouettes, such as the gods Izanagi and Izanami creating the Japanese archipelago, the sun goddess Amaterasu coming out of the cave and the golden kite landing on top of Emperor Jimmu’s emblematic bow.”
