Never not amusing to see these early JT films with the credit “directed by Johnny To” lol
Here Tony Leung is doing his best Stephen Chow, whom To would work with on his next movie Justice My Foot. There are times when Leung looks like Chow. It’s uncanny and distracting. Waise Lee is the big bad, stealing his girl and the Triad money.
More crime drama action than humor but because To has to inject humor in these movies which is nearly slapstick in some cases, tagging as a comedy. Makes for an annoying viewing plus Leung portraying an awful jealous rage character doesn’t help.
