Viewing Notes

Watched for my guy Warner Oland, who was in this movie and his own flick Charlie Chan in Shanghai back to back. Thought that was amusing. Sadly he’s really not in this that much. Guessing they cast him in the role bc of his Charlie Chan work and needing a Chinese emissary but didn’t want to give that to a Chinese actor.

Loretta Young is the real star here. Incredible she’s only 22 when they made this but she seems years more seasoned as an actor.
