Neat to see Johnnie To in the Stephen Chow business. The humor doesn’t really work for me, both slapstick and toilet humor, literally. It’s fine but if not for Anita Mui this wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining. She’s a powerhouse of a presence. Every time I see her in a movie I get sad at how much we lost with her passing.

For Stephen Chow I still get dumbfounded how an actor with such bright burning star during the nineties just decided to quit the business after a short stint directing. ofc he can do whatever he wants just a crazy decision given how popular he was.
