Female Neo-Ninjas (1991)

Overview

Three cute, sexy ninjas, around the age of 20, have been in training, building their powers for some vague future threat. Their destined mission becomes apparent when a handsome ninja from 400 years past drops from the sky into the hot tub of on of the girls. He comes with news of a grave threat: an evil industrialist has apparently joined forces with UFOs to take over Japan. The only solution, it seems, lies in the special talents of the three girls - notable as much for their martial arts as their skimpy costumes.

wild-ass movie that with a couple of tweaks could be truly great, in a bad movie kind of way. firstly the poster art makes it look like these girls are children. they are not, which it’s funny that the description points out. probably bc there is nudity when one of the girls is captured and tortured. plus some other scenes, too. this is a full-on early 90s exploitation flick.

My favorite thing is Hideyo Amamoto as the grandfather. So hilarious to have him in this movie. Then out of nowhere Tetsuro Tamba shows up. I was like, “that really looks a lot like Tetsuro Tamba but it can’t be him.” Then I see in the credits it is him. Wow

This being a V-cinema joint I’d love for it to get a nice restored update and be a part of a future set. The versions on Archive are not very good (I watched the VHS rip w/custom subs in a small window so it was at least watchable). The non-subbed version is uncut (slightly longer nude scenes) and little more clean, probably a laserdisc rip.
