Microbes are brought back to earth via a space probe from Venus. A scientist is using them in experiments on aging, but dies before the work is finished. His assistant approaches an aging actress who is being passed by for the lead roles, and she injects the serum hoping to become young again. When the actress is still passed up for the plum roles, the alien bacterium transforms her into a hideous bug-like alien resulting in a predictable attrition problem amongst her detractors.

Judging by the others that have viewed this movie, it was once a selection for Horror Movie Night back in the day. I didn’t see it then. It was the next file up after Ernest Scared Stupid on my hard drive so I just let it play. It’s a rip from the Retro Media DVD bc it starts with Fred Olen Ray at his home introducing the DVD company and the movie. Hilarious stuff having met the guy.
The movie is kind of a loose remake of The She-Creature (1956) with THE SUBSTANCE premise; aging actress wants to be young again to get better roles so gets injections that ultimately turn her into the she-creature monster.
This is a pretty good flick as far as FOR flicks go. Practical FX and blood and nudity all under 80 minutes. Only annoyance is rolling John Carradine out for a cameo when clearly he should not be in movies at that time (he passed away a year later).
