Viewing Notes

Epic

Works better as one long film than two long films. Rajamouli borrowed heavily from the LotR trilogy and this would like taking the second two films Two Towers and Return of the King and editing them into one 4 hour movie.

Loses some of the fat common in these long Indian films, focusing on the melodrama and action. The first half is nuts then the second half ups everything for an insane finale that only Rajamouli would do.

Really hope this cut gets a 4K UHD because it’s a better experience over viewing the two films separately, and those are still great movies.

Great to see in the Dolby theater and the seats were rocking bc they over crank the volume on Indian movies at the AMCs, for whatever reason (during the intermission a child outside was upset it was so loud). Didn’t have my earplugs so had to fashion some out of napkins as per usual.
