Retired special forces officer Zhong Xiaonan is assigned to protect Lin Zihao, the son of a renowned Chinese-American scientist, as he returns to China. Viewing Notes
Qin Pengfei employing every trope in the action movie playback plus a few extras for funsies. Sadly it makes this stellar performance by Qu Jingjing and Yang Xing less compelling because the action is wrapped in the laziest of plot devices.
That said, I’d still love to own this for these two amazing female leads and the action direction. I’ll probably give it another spin next year assuming we won’t see a BD release.
