Overview

Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

A year removed from its release Cloverfield is still quite fun but I don’t agree with the need for an American Godzilla (per the creators). It seems the historical significance of Godzilla is lost on them. But the flick is cool for a variety of reasons. I really should have seen this on the big screen. Dumb me.
