Second film of Day 6 at Noir City Chicago: Alan Ladd night. Here Ladd is a rags to (extreme) riches guy all for the pursuit of a lost love. He’s rock solid. Shelley Winters as a small role and nails it. It’s a mystery as to why this film has remained unavailable to view for 50+ years. Noir-stained but not really a film noir.
