The Wicked (2013)

Directed by Peter Winther

Horror | Thriller

Overview

A Group of teenagers test the legend of an immortal witch and get more than they bargained for. It’s almost Halloween and six young people, spooked but not undaunted by the folklore surrounding an old haunted house, make their way to the abode of the legendary Wicked, perhaps hoping to provoke the malevolent witch, but clearly not prepared for what they’ve certainly unleashed.

Viewing Notes

Final feature at HHW and apparently has been picked up for distribution. Pretty typical teenagers in peril flick but with a few likable characters. It’s like if Joe Dante made an evil witch with half his normal level competence. Not a bad film and actually enjoyable in parts but never really gets over the hump. Worth a look. Diana Hopper is weirdly attractive for a plain jane. Jess Adams is smoking.
