Years ago, Mike killed the new mother of twin girls and took the babies to a house in the woods, claiming them as his own to appease his wife’s desire for kids. 10 years later, Stacy flees to her uncle’s old secluded cabin in those same woods to escape her abusive boyfriend. There, she is haunted by the ghosts of the little girls crying for their mother.

3rd feature film of Day One at Chicago Horror Film Festival. Screenplay definitely rooted in the 70s w/flares of exploitation/grindhouse elements but the slick 2012 production loses that raw aesthetic offering up flimsy substitute that fails to live up to its potential. The premise reminds me a lot of late 70s horror but doesn’t execute it well to make it compelling or terrifying as it could be. Still give it a pass as it’s worth a look just wanted more from it.
