While I think these archeologists should have watched The Lost World and Jurassic Park III before heading out on their expedition, this is a fun and well put together film. There are some great shots, the effects are used sparingly but extremely effectively and they did an amazing job building up the tension. While I think this film borrows quite a bit from techniques Spielberg uses in his more horror oriented films, it never feels like a ripoff as they do something new with them. I did love the mix of myth and reality which could have gone badly but was handled well.
