Viewing Notes

I bought the blu-ray digital combo for this today for the Rogue Cut which means I have an extra blu-ray of the theatrical cut floating around which I’ll probably end up donating. So I bet your asking, was the extra 17 minutes worth it? Yes.

While I can see watching this why it got trimmed up as it does add an extra layer of plot to the film when it didn’t need it, it also has this nice sequence that ties into the past and future moments that sets this pace through the rest of the film that just works really well.  It’s not just Rogue scenes that got added in, several other scenes got extended as well and different moments get a slightly bigger emphasis and it has more character moments which in an ensemble cast this big is a godsend.

The theatrical cut is still fantastic and still gets a 5 out of 5 from me. The Rogue cut also gets that five out of five from me because while it adds something that could work without it, the film feels a little more complete with those moments in there.
