Strangely, I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen this entire film before. Hard to believe given how many Godzilla films I’ve watched.
This was the Japanese version off the remastered DVD from the Toho Collection released in the mid-2000’s. Part of a mini-GFest I did over the weekend.
Godzilla Raids Again is a pale shade of the original Godzilla movie. This is the first movie where there’s actually silly rubber suit fighting between two creatures, which immediately undercuts the more somber tone of the first Godzilla movie. It also introduces the concept of more than one Godzilla, which I think was quickly discarded after this film.
