I took a drive down to the Denver Film Society especially to see this since it was the only place showing it in the area. It took about 35 minutes to get there, so not bad at all. The DFS has a great facility with four screens, ample parking in a parking garage above the theater, a bar and comfortable waiting area and great theater seats.
With the exception of the guffawing woman in my row whose laugh sounded like two walruses fucking with an Eskimo trapped between them it was a pretty enjoyable experience. I opted for an annual membership ($60) as I plan on attending more than a few screenings.
John Dies At The End was great fun; a nice blend of humor and sci-fi-ish horror, exactly what I’d expect from the director of Phantasm.
