Overview

A gangster, Nino, is in the Cash Money Brothers, making a million dollars every week selling crack. A cop, Scotty, discovers that the only way to infiltrate the gang is to become a dealer himself.

Viewing Notes

New Jack City hasn’t aged all that well, but it’s still a fun watch with a crazy cast. It broadcasts its Scarface influence loud and clear through the main character’s constant watching of that movie down to an almost word-for-word scene lifted from the movie.

Too hyperbolic to be taken very seriously, but it has a great soundtrack and I have fond memories of seeing it in the theater back in college, mainly because I was one of the few white people in attendance.
