Viewing Notes

Shoulda, coulda been better. It never really dove enough into the motivations of the climbers: the paying clients especially but also the guides and the sherpas, who all climb for different reasons.

It also didn’t emphasize the bad decisions that lead to the tragedy enough. Things were compounded by previous mistakes (overcrowding, improper gear, lack of teamwork, etc) and while all those things were shown to come into play, I don’t think the average viewer probably understood it all.

Still, a capable movie. Wish I’d seen it in the theater just for the cinematography.
