It’s been a long time since I watched this, but having recently bought the Criterion Blu coupled with Gavin wanting to watch a crime movie, I decided it was the right time to revisit it and introduce Gavin to some excellent French cinema.
The symbolism of the bird in the cage really stood out this time, especially the last scene Delon has in his apartment where he pauses and seems to contemplate freeing the bird, and thus himself, but chooses not to. From that point on you know he’s done for.
