Viewing Notes

Tonia had her book club over to watch a movie in the home theater so I opted to go see MIDWAY on my own.

I felt pretty ambivalent going in and coming out. It’s not terrible, but most of it felt fairly lifeless, like an empty shell of what a good historical account of WWII would be. I really didn’t care much for Ed Skrien in the lead role either. Dennis Quaid as Admiral Halsey was one of the few characters I felt invested in.

Mostly I just wanted to revisit the 1979 version of MIDWAY, as well as TORA! TORA! TORA! and 30 SECONDS OVER TOKYO.
