Viewing Notes
In the hands of a more capable (restrained?) director this could have added up to something much better. As it’s Michael Bay at the helm, it’s a big mess. The editing and sequencing of the movie is, uh, chaotic one might say. I pretty much gave up on trying to keep track of what happened when, and honestly it really didn’t matter.
That’s not to say there isn’t some entertaining stuff here and there as long as you don’t care about innocent bystanders getting injured or maimed. The opening car chase scene is half cringy as hell and half holy-shit-entertaining in a I-can’t-believe-no-stunt-people-were-killed kind of way.
The (Shanghai? Hong Kong?) rescue stuff was also pretty spectacular at times.
