Overview
«Fulci for Fake» is the first biopic on Lucio Fulci. Lucio Fulci is an enigma. The mystery that surrounds Fulci is linked in part to his personal life. The director only rarely spoke about himself in interviews. But he did let his experience be reflected in his films. The setting of the film sees Nicola, a successful actor, agree to play the part of Lucio Fulci in a biopic on the director. Nicola will ask himself probing questions about the real nature of a man who, in his own lifetime, had already rewritten his biography.

Man, I wanted this to be better. The framing device is atrocious and the actor who “plays” Fulci (but never actually does?) is a shoe gazing stumblefuck but somehow it still manages to impart some useful information about Lucio Fulci.
The best parts were the interviews with his daughter Camilla and Fabio Frizzi, the composer. It drove me nuts when they interview his other daughter Antonella last, saying she was the best part and then not really including shit from her.
Kind of a train wreck of a documentary to be honest.
