This movie is one of those things you might’ve stumbled across in the video store in the ‘80s, rented, and then shared over and over again with your friends because you just couldn’t believe what you’d seen!
This is the very definition of a movie night movie! The fact that this exists on Blu-ray is proof that we’re all spoiled in this era of boutique labels.
This is just one of FIVE movies DeCoteau released in 1989. He is the Eric Roberts of directors!
So the plot is barely stitched together, there’s tons of gratuitously pointless nudity, the color is washed out (which is actually pretty appropriate for a movie set in L.A. if we’re being honest), the action is high school drama play cartoonish and the dialogue is hilariously bad at times. In short this is movie manages to transcend it’s objectively bad qualities to still be highly entertaining. Lots of fun to watch, just wish I could watch with friends!

I look forward to watching this at one of your movie nights! Love that you compare DeCoteau to Eric Roberts given that they’ve many several movies together. That made me smile.
